Founded in 2014 by Dr Daniel Pampuch (Executive Principal) and Dr Michelle Cafini (Founding Head of College), Rivercrest Christian College was established as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, designed to provide an internationally-minded Christian education as part of CREST Education – which includes Hillcrest Christian College, Ayr Hill Equestrian Centre, the CREST Institute and Environmental Reserve.

The College commenced with one hundred and one students in an Early Learning Centre and Prep and Year One classroom. It rapidly grew, adding new facilities, teachers and students every year. A Specialist Hub, including a brand new Discovery Centre, Art Room, Music Room, IT Hub and private instrumental rooms was established in 2017, and the Rivercrest Multi-Purpose Centre and Reflections Cafe was constructed in 2018

By 2019, the College had grown to over five hundred students, with attractive, purpose-built facilities and best practice learning and teaching programmes. The Middle Years building was completed this year, approximately 100 metres from the Primary Campus, catering for the MY1 (Year 6) students and establishing the Secondary campus of the College

Founding Head of College, Dr Michelle Cafini, was farewelled by the College community as she undertook a lecturing position at the University of Melbourne at the end of 2019. Mrs Christine Lucas was appointed as Head of College in 2020, and continues to shape and lead the Rivercrest community as the College works towards the establishment of the IB Diploma Programme in 2024.
