The curriculum offered at Rivercrest reflects a concept-driven, inquiry learning approach that builds upon the students prior learning and past experiences. While the teaching of literacy and numeracy is a core component of the curriculum, there is also a strong focus on social, emotional, physical and spiritual development.

The curriculum aims to foster the ability to think critically and creatively, within a framework of inquiry-learning and discovery, such that students are able to make valid and meaningful connections between their learning and their developing worldview. Rivercrest offers the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme for ELC–Year 5.

Currently, we are a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme for students in Years 6-10.* Our Middle Years Campus opened in 2019, beginning with classes in Year 6.

*Rivercrest Christian College is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes of international education that share a powerful vision.**  *Only schools authorised by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC).
